How to Enroll in Dual Credit

Getting started with Dual Credit at Texarkana College is easy! Follow these steps to check your eligibility, complete your application, take any required assessments, and register for classes. Be sure to work closely with your high school counselor to stay on track and submit all required documents.

  • Meet with your ACDC or your high school advisor for guidance in picking your best course options.
  • No testing is needed if you have less than 15 college credit hours. Students are considered non-degree seeking until they reach 15 hours.
  • Students with 15 or more college credit hours usually meet entrance requirements through previous college coursework. Speak with your ACDC or high school advisor for more information.  If you need to take the TSIA2 Assessment at Texarkana College, you will need to complete the pre-assessment. Learn More on TSIA2 Testing Center Information.  Some schools offer TSIA2 at the high school campus.  Students can also be exempt through ACT with a 23 composite and 19 on Math and/or English or through SAT with a score of 480 on Reading and Writing and/or 530 on Math.
  • See your high school advisor to receive a ticket if you must test at Texarkana College.  When testing, students must show valid photo identification.  The tests cost $10 for Math and $20 for ELAR.  The Testing Center accepts cash, debit, and credit cards.  TC’s Testing Center can be contacted at 903-823-3278.
  • Turn in a copy of your TSI scores to your high school advisor.

Only new students and students who do not register for a year or longer must complete a Dual Credit Application. Applications must be submitted at least 5 business days prior to registration.
