Benefits of Dual Credit
Dual Credit gives students the opportunity to earn tuition-free college credit while still in high school, build college readiness, and get an early start on their academic or career goals.

More Than College Credit
Dual Credit gives you a head start on college while helping reduce the cost of earning your degree.
Eligible students can take qualifying Dual Credit courses at no tuition cost through the combined support of the TC Promise and the Financial Aid for Swift Transfer (FAST) Program.
Students who earn 15 or more Texarkana College Dual Credit hours before graduating high school also become automatic qualifiers for the TC Promise. In addition to continuing their education with the support of the TC Promise, automatic qualifiers receive an additional $1,000 in scholarships.
Whether your goal is to transfer to a university or complete a workforce program, Dual Credit helps you start college sooner, save money, and build a pathway toward future success.
College Readiness and Smoother Transition
Dual Credit helps students develop the skills needed for college success. By experiencing college-level coursework early, students become more confident in their academic abilities and learn essential time management and study skills. Dual Credit courses can ease the transition from high school to college by allowing students to adjust to college expectations while still receiving the support of their high school environment.
Early Career Opportunities Through Workforce Programs
For students interested in entering the workforce sooner, Dual Credit provides a pathway to industry-recognized certifications and technical degrees. Workforce programs allow students to gain hands-on experience and develop skills in high-demand fields, preparing them for immediate job opportunities upon graduation. By completing workforce courses in high school, students can save time and money while getting a head start on their careers.
